U.S. Grants Patent For Using AJAX
Now any site that uses rich-media technology implementations, including Flash, Flex, Java, Ajax, and XAML, when the rich-media application is accessed on any device over the Internet, including desktops, mobile devices, set-top boxes, and video game consoles will need a licence.

this would not be the first moron to patent the wheel;
remember wokrosoft patenting the double-click, BT patenting the hyperlinks and that jerk patenting the e-commerce?
lukily, that US-patent-bullshit does not apply here in EU.

Speaking of stupid patents, I’m quite glad that there is still hope against a rotten patent system.
For instance, igdmlgd is a guy with whom I’ve exchanged a couple of emails, and he has proofs that Amazon’s one-click patent is invalid because of prior art.
He eventually succceeded in raising the amount for the reexamination fees. I’m almost as glad as if he’s actually won. Because it shows there’s still a bit of hope for us non-corporate drones…
