Microsoft is getting hotter. Or at least warming up, which is amazing given their well-known-for-years icy attitude.
Ok, I know I’m not saying anything new here, but I’m again amazed of the changes that took place within MS in the last couple of years. They ar emore open, they apologize, they launch crappy software (ok, no news here
– but really, live.com is a piece of crap, Google’s personalized homepage, MyYahoo and NetVibes are simply better.
Still, they seem to finally get the point and start releasing cool fre stuff. For instance:
Windows 2003 resource kit tools, a pack for XP with unix-like tools (such as tail, sleep and many more) – here
Interesting research beta products and sources, over at MS labs
And last, but certainly not least, free versions for students and hobbysts of the Visual Studio suite, over here

hai sa fin cinstiti, de cand nu ai mai folosit o aplicatie web de-a microsoft? more opened? parca tocmai anuntau ca vor sa restranga initiativa shared source…

De restrangerea lui shared source nu am habar, in schimb le-am citit propunerile de 3 licente unificatoare pentru MS Shared Source; par ok…
De cand cu Scoble, mini MS, etc, isi cer scuze la greu pentru graba echipei de PR de a lansa un produs compatibil doar cu IE, de a nu avea un demo normal, si in general de lentoarea dezvoltarii unui nou produs. Ce sa mai, au capatat o fata umana (stiu, spun chestii repetate de altii cu multe luni in urma)…
Ce imi arati pe situl lui Radu nu pare deloc polemica; parerile alea le am si eu, dupa cum vezi: live.com e crap.
Tot ce remarcam e insa ca MS devine mai dinamic, mai deschis, mai inovator pe ici pe colo. Si asta e bine, nu?
