I was once an avid reader of the thoughts of an Irish manin Bucharest, Frank O’Connor, but had to give up on the regular reading of his blog, Albino Neutrino ever since the beginning of my internship at Murex, when time got too crowded for non-tech readings.
This weekend, however, my curiosity was resurected after having read Dragos’s post about meeting the cool irish expats (where on earth is that permlink, I can’t seem to find it anywhere update: here it is, I found it), so I spent some time catching up with his quite interesting blog.
Here’s a funny reading: the dog-friendly tea-house over in Dorobanti , makes me miss the times when I’d spend my summers in the extremely quiet neighbourhood.
funny funny quote:
This time around we hit Carturesti. That’s a big bookshop and tea emporium on Boulevard Magheru. It’s like an oasis of calm intelligence in a city full of dirty money. I bought Tia a huge book about Canaletto.
We like Canaletto for the same reason that everyone else does. He draws all the windows and everything and gets it all right. Van Gogh, on the other hand, couldn’t paint a window to save his life. That’s why, to this day, no one knows how to pronounce his name.
