Back online
The visitors having tried to access my website in the last 10 hours didn’t succeed. The reason? I finally (after 6 months) migrated my hosting, from Gabriel Radic’s to my own.
The story?
Last year, in september, I bought my own domain and hosting. At worldwebhosters, a very cheap and poor webhosting service, which I don’t recommend.
Back in march, when I’ve gotten sick by the site’s downtimes and the lack of functionality, I took Gabi’s kind offer and got my website hosted on his account at dreamhost.com, free of charge and full of functionalities. After a while, wanting some more of the cool features dreamhost.com offered, I chose to open my own account, the one where I host my mini-CMS and online notepad, www.not3s.net . Ever since, I kept trying to move my alexbrie.net domain onto my new webhost (actually, the same webhost, but different account and different server). A seamingly complicated task.
But, last night, I cut the Gordian node and: Backup’ed alexbrie.net and its database on my computer; removed it from the webhost on Gabi’s account; added it on my own account. Restored the files and database. Uff… I think I’m finally done. !

Aoleu ce bataita meriti pentru spam comments…
Nu, nu am incredere in webhosturile romanesti, si in general in cele care se lauda cu “nelimitat”. Pentru ca nu exista asa ceva (ia incearca tu sa pui la mass download un film de 600de mega), sa vezi cum “nelimitat” ala devine “scuze, ti-ai depasit bandwidth-ul maxim lunar”.
Prefer un host serios, international(sa nu pice cand pica rds-ul) reputat, si care devine pe zi ce trece mai bun.
