Cool idea (off course, it’s mine), that I have developped about 5 months ago and didn’t tell (almost) anybody about:
Not3s.net – like NOTES, only with 3 instead of E
What is it? You can read on the site as well: the EASIEST to use personal WEBNOTEPAD
I designed it with the sole purpose to minimize the amount of clicks and typing required, and offering the most functionalities in as few bytes of code as possible.
What you can use it for?
- first of all, for saving small personal notes for future use (a web notepad)
- second, for sharing your not3s with the world (a web fridge with post-its on)
What to do next? Well.. I’m planning to add to it protected notes, to be shared only with friends in you friend list; tag-based-search to categorize your not3s; RSS’s to access to public or protected not3s (by tags or friend); and many.. as many as possible more features, provided they keep the simplicity of use.
Conclusion? It’s like a Notepad, but a very LIGHT one; it’s trying to be like del.icio.us, but a much more USEFUL one; it’s a CMS , but a very SIMPLE one.
Try it, whenever you take a not3 !

Hi alex. I like the freshness of the idea, good thing you’re doing something because you believe in it and you like it!
Otherwise, I guess time will tell if it’s a good idea or not, I can’t comment on that.
Good luck!

Thanks, Vivi!
Even if nobody else will ever use it, it will still have at least one user (me).
I’ve been using it constantly since I released its final version (about 3-4 months ago): it’s much simpler to use than sending emails to myself, than writing text files I randomly delete or even than writing dead-tree notes I often lose.
And.. compared to other web notepads, it only takes 1 click to get started (since, unless you log out, it remembers your login settings).

Should I dare to give advice?
From my point of view, one of the main disatvantages is that if my net connection fails, or your site goes down, i loose all my notes (and maybe I have important ones that I need right now).
Maybe it would be nice to have some kind of local backup or something, so I can view and keep my notes on my local computer. There are more and more small applications for keeping notes (see widgets, google desktop) but none of them has them public and stored online for others to see (wich, in some situations, I guess would be cool
).

It was in the plan…
(authenticated RSS’s, Gmail style) ; but since I don’t have the time to program, it’s a very postponed plan
